Waterbed problem....

My sister moved and gave me her old waterbed. I know nothing about waterbeds and after I drained it and squished it up in a huge ball, I threw it on the frame and filled it up. Problem is, the fibers inside have fused together and now there is a big lump in the middle. Is the mattress ruined? Does anyone have any ideas on how to get it back to normal? Has anyone else ever had this problem?? I appreciate any help on this.I'd ask my sister but she is out of town for awhile and doesn't have a cell phone. Thanks.

This may be long over due, but I found inserting a broomstick into the fill hole helps to straighten it out. Have towels handy if you filled it up too much. The mattress can take lots of punishment, so don't be too gentle. It may take a while and never come back to what it was, but it helps.

Thanks for the advice. I tried it and it didn't work.We messed it up to much in the draining and moving. I bought a new one, not as good but it's fine. It really no longer matters because I'm moving and waterbeds are not allowed.:( Again, thanks for the help.
